| Majorelle Garden |
 |
| Jacques
Majorelle is a painter and very famous decorator of Nancy, it
was born in 1888. Invited by the Lyautey General in Marrakesh
in 1917 to look after its tuberculosis, it fell in love with the
town of Marrakesh and it settled in its small house a few years
later. By the same occasion, it created its workshop in this small
house where it painted engravings while taking as a starting point
the everyday life of the Morrocan women. It died there in 1962.
Fallen in the lapse of memory after death
from Jacques Majorelle, the place is repurchased by Yves SAINT
LAURENT who restored it at the beginning of the Sixties. And the
Garden of Majorelle became an Islamic museum composed of Moroccan
antiquities.
